Hey -- Wakeup

When you’re on these long days, particularly under power, we tend to read books, play games and basically let the boat manage itself. But every once in a while you get a wakeup call. This is the second time in Greece where we have encountered (actually didn’t really encounter but had a close call) with an unmarked reef.


I was down below doing a position check and looked at the chart and there was a shallow spot – and I looked closer and it wasn’t just a little shallower – it got to 1 meter. I ran up top asked Marina if she had seen anything, and about 500 meters up and 200 meters over, there it was. Boy that could have ruined our day.
