Cetraro, Maratea and Agropoli
After Stella del Sud we traveled about 50 miles up the coast to Cetraro, mostly powering as there wasn't much wind. There are not many places on this part of the Italian coast to "park" so we pulled in where we needed to. Cetraro was a place to stay for the night but not a lot of charm. We were just going to hang out on the boat but a man came by on his bicycle and handed us a business card to come to his restaraunt a couple of blocks away. So why not? Matt and I went, as Ross and Jessie preferred to stay on the boat. We weren't really hungry, we just wanted a couple of appetizers to "thank" the proprietor for bringing us the card. Well...first time we've been disappointed pretty much this whole trip. He convinced us to have the house plate of sample appetizers...and brought 2. Then he suggested pizza...another house specialty...and brought 2...everything was good but not great and then he hit us with the bill...a whopper! We had to walk back to the boat for an extra 5 Euro and bring it back. What a weener! Needless to say...we didn't take many pictures and we were happy to move on the next morning.
Next day we moved on to Maratea. Maratea has a very quaint and lovely marina and it is also a pretty little town, that like most others are pretty sleeping between 1 and 4 pm.
We went for a walk and found a bank machine that would work and found a nice, hot beach to lounge on for a while...except Ross, who doesn't know how to relax. Dinner and a good sleep...off not too early the next morning to Agropoli.
